Meet The Founder

Olamide Okpara founded Nigeria Gives after witnessing the stark realities of child poverty in her hometown during a family visit to Nigeria. Inspired by the contrast between her blessings in the U.S. and the struggles children face daily, she felt compelled to act.
Her research revealed heartbreaking facts (sourced from UNICEF Nigeria):

73% of children aged 7–14 lack foundational reading skills.

Over 2,350 children die daily from treatable diseases.

More than 10 million Nigerian children are out of school.

Motivated to create change, Olamide launched Nigeria Gives to provide clothing, medical care, school supplies, and hope to children in need. By partnering with local NGOs, Nigeria Gives works to transform lives and build brighter futures—one child at a time.
